Other Biomedical Approaches
Individually meaningful additions
In addition to the basic therapy, biomedicine encompasses further specialised approaches. These include the treatment of PANS/PANDAS (neuroimmunological reactions following infections), the regulation of the methylation cycle, as well as support for liver function and optimisation of fatty acid metabolism.
In addition, particularly effective biomedical procedures can be applied in a targeted way when needed, especially for neuroinflammatory processes or acute cellular undersupply. One example of this is hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT).
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT)
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a safe medical procedure in which one lies relaxed in a special pressure chamber and breathes pure oxygen. Due to the increased pressure, the body absorbs many times more oxygen compared to normal conditions. This additional oxygen dissolves in the blood plasma and thus reaches all tissues, cells, and organs.
This therapy improves blood flow to the brain, increases energy production in the cells, and has an anti-inflammatory effect – both in the nervous system and in the digestive tract (gut-brain axis). This gives the brain the energy it needs to build new neural connections, which can support concentration, language, and well-being.
In summary, all these measures are individually adapted, as coordinated "puzzle pieces", to the deficits identified in the laboratory, to create a tailor-made biological foundation for healthy neurological development.
